The Switch2 is a control unit for a door. The control unit stores the user's access authorization and is mounted inside the building. This makes the system user-friendly for high-security applications.

Switch2 can be used with PROXIMITY, CARDLOCK, or TOUCHLOCK readers. Switch2 can be installed for several doors in a house controlled by the same card. Two readers can be connected to the same unit, which can control all entered and exited accesses.

Installation – There is a label on the Switch2 unit that clearly shows the connection between the reader, the lock, and the power supply, etc. Switch2 has a voltage-free relay output that can switch all locks and electronic devices. Door contacts can be connected to the unit. An output is available when a door is connected with an alarm indicating that a door has been forced.

When installing with PROXIMITY or CARDLOCK readers, hold the registration card to the reader. All tags in the package are now valid. When using TOUCHLOCK, install via the keypad with the master code.

Usage – The function of Switch2 is determined by the mode.

PROXIMITY and CARDLOCK. User tags are valid and ready for use only after they have been fully installed. Each user tag has a corresponding shadow card. When user tags are issued, the user's name is written on the shadow card. If a user is blocked or if a tag is lost, the user's shadow card is presented to all readers on site. This simple action invalidates the user tag. A new user tag can be issued for the user.

Additional functions can be programmed with function card packages for PROXIMITY or CARDLOCK. These functions include zoning, which allows limited access depending on the tag's color.
