PIR Detector HX-40RAM

HX-40RAM is a specially designed battery-powered outdoor detector from OPTEX that is prepared for wireless installation outdoors with radio transmitters from any manufacturer. The detector can be mounted wirelessly to all control panels regardless of brand! The radio transmitter and battery are placed inside the detector's mounting bracket.

HX-40RAM, with its low power consumption and thoughtful design for universal transmitters, is specifically aimed at wireless installations with high demands for reliable outdoor detection. HX-40RAM's unique design, with a 20° vertical tilt from the mounting surface and included protective cover, keeps the detector's lens well protected from direct sunlight and wear and tear from weather and wind. The lens is clearly marked with nine vertical zones, making it very easy to mask a specific area from the detection zone.

The unique pyroelectric element in HX-40RAM provides 94 dense detection zones to greatly avoid false alarms caused by rapid temperature changes and other environmental changes. With an AND logic, detection in both the upper and lower pyroelectric elements is required, which effectively eliminates false alarms caused by, for example, small animals. Advanced temperature compensation ensures high detection reliability even when the ambient temperature is very close to body temperature.
Using a light indicator, HX-40RAM can further adjust sensitivity at dusk and during the night, which is particularly desirable during the summer months when air and ground temperatures can vary rapidly.

The digital signal processor effectively eliminates movement from swaying vegetation in the detection area. The anti-masking is automatically adjusted to prevailing conditions to ensure the highest possible function.
To reduce the risk of false alarms caused by visible light and RFI, "DCS" (Double Conductive Shielding) technology is used. DCS means that the IR sensor is encapsulated in a conductive filter that effectively filters out RFI and white light interference (up to 100,000 Lux).
